I choose obesity as my topic for my virtual field study as it is a very serious topic. The United States obesity rate is now over 40%. Obesity leads to many health problems like type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and strokes. Sadly it is one of the most common things now in the time we are living in. As fast food chains rule the world with their inexpensive prices they make millions of dollars each day. The obesity rate is not okay and we must prevent it. With the numerous ways provided in the infographic above. Simple things like riding bikes, choosing a better diet, and doing activities like swimming. Not only these things but you can simply go out take a walk on a daily basis and limit the food options. Which might seem difficult as salads, carrotsĀ and some other healthy items might be very expensive. But there are other ways to replace chips and candy with apples and strawberries. Replace the soda and juice from the store with your own homemade juices from home with all natural and fresh ingredients. Unfortunately this obesity rate is the horrible truth we live with today, but that shouldn’t stop people from striving for a better physical life. It takes just one little step each day to better yourself and once you’ve reached your goal don’t stop at that point and help others push through. Together we can do it!
