The authors of the article Why Are Scientists So Upset About the First Crispr Babies? Gina Kolata and Pam Belluck. The audience for this article can be regular civilians. It can be for regular people so that they are aware of what some of these scientists are doing and so that they are more cautious before letting scientists experiment on them. I believe the stance of the article is against the gene altering of the babies because they go on to talk about other scientists who were furious at the fact that he actually tried this on a human. The setting on this article is China as this is where the experiment took place. The genre would be science and the scientific controversy on this paper is gene editing.
